Okay. I’m at the AGFA booth with Deborah Hutcheson. One of my favorite people out there, just so everybody knows, at AGFA Graphics booth. And, I was just speaking with Matt, and we were talking about some awesome applications that would be relevant for commercial printers to enter the wide format arena, but it’s quite evident that AGFA is very established in the wide format arena. You won some awards, so let’s talk to the wide format professionals out there. Tell them about these awards behind me.” Every year, the SGIA does the Product of the year Awards, and we have a very large assortment. So, they offer a variety of different categories for the awards. So, we submitted into the UV Flatbed for under $200, 000. That was our Anapurna M2540i. We submitted the Mira, the Jeti Mira, which is a flatbed device with a roll-to-roll option in the $200,000 - $500, 000 category. And then, our very high volume production unit, which is our Jeti Tauro, we submitted into that category. And, I am thrilled to say, we won all three. So, they came over yesterday, and I was jumping and shouting, and they do it to evaluate its value by industry professionals that come in, and they look at the quality from the prints in the production mode and assess what would be the in or the highest quality, and I took the triple crown.
Congratulations Deb. I mean, I’m not really surprised, quite frankly. Let’s talk a little bit about this show. I’ve only pretty much heard positive feedback, but I’d be very in how you are thinking the show is going. I know, I passed here a few times and I could barely get in to your booth. So, I’m assuming it’s been quite busy here.” It’s been very busy. You know, we haven’t been in Atlanta since 2008, so I think everybody was a little concerned, because we bounce between Orlando and Vegas, but it has been extremely well attended. And, we’ve been really busy, and that’s what it’s all about. That’s what we come here for.
What about the attendees? Do you think they’re asking buying questions or looking questions?” They’re asking buying questions. Many of them have done their research beforehand, and that’s why we always drive people to our website, to www.agfagraphics.com, so they can get an updated view on the equipment. But, people are coming and they’re very well-educated.
And, how does AGFA participate in providing education for the community out there?” We post a lot on our website. I’m constantly doing, e-communications about our products. Anybody that’s looking for information can come to us, so we can add it to our newsletter. We direct them to people like you because you’re giving a good overview of what’s out there and a good educational – SGIA does a wonderful job with their educational programs and we support that, as well.
Thanks. And, here’s kind of a weird question but I think you might know the answer to this. A lot of people have been asking me if I know of a resource, where they can kind of like, Best-Buy it and compare models of different makers of machines out there. Does such a resource exist, or should they look for two organizations, like InfoTrends, or some sort of other wide format research.” InfoTrends and I.T. Strategies give you a good understanding of where the market is going. SGIA does there annual survey. It usually comes out in the beginning of the year and they look at, what’s the trends in the market and the products that are produced in that market. To get a comparison between various vendors, Products of the Year is a good way to do that, because all the major suppliers have participated in that. iD Alliance did an evaluation a few years ago on a wide format survey. That also gives you some good guidance.
Thank you so much. And, how can people get in touch with AGFA?” www.agfagraphics.com and they just ask for more information, and if it’s a US customer, it gets directed to me.
Perfect. And, your Twitter is @agfagraphics?” @agfagraphics
Thank you so much D. Hutch. Always a pleasure to see you.” Me too. Thank you very much.
