In this online interview, Mark Dempsey from HP and editor Morten B. Reitoft chatted about the digital transformation in the corrugated industry. Dempsey explains that the business case moving to digital from flexo is easier than moving from offset to digital in the folding carton segment. We also talk about the C550, which today, February 14th, 2024, celebrates its first year in the market - a warm congratulations to HP for the achievement. Enjoy!

A year ago - on February 14th, 2023, the HP PageWide C550 was launched, and just a few months later, the first installation in North America was a reality with Sutherland Packaging in Andover. In this INKISH episode, you learn about the considerations and the result of the investment - and from the perspective of being a family-owned company that until this investment primarily focused on brown boxes, this step is major. Sutherland sees entirely new opportunities and an opportunity to convert brown-box customers into multi-colored boxes. However, the C550 is also used to produce Point-of-Sales displays, a lucrative business for Sutherland - but listen and see. Frederic Deliat from DS Smith joined the BHS Open House earlier this year - and besides saying that each of DS Smith's plants can have different suppliers, he also told Editor Morten B. Reitoft that he is at the BHS Open House to see and experience the new BHS JetLiner. Interesting to see how BHS attracts many different people and how the Jetliner seems to be exciting for people to see at the Schumacher site :-)
