Patrick Vreven · Director EMEA Business Development · CERM · LabelExpo Barcelona 2025
Pat McGrew from Inkish interviews Patrick Vreven from CERM at LabelExpo. Patrick explains that CERM continues to grow by integrating with more partners, such as Esko and HP, and by launching new features, including an AI-driven solution introduced at the show. This new AI system is designed to analyze customer data, restructure it, and feed it into CERM’s system to reduce manual work, job redundancy, and errors, as well as speed up quoting, order integration, and production scheduling. He highlights their scheduling optimizer, which uses rule-based real-time optimization to adapt to production changes and incidents, reducing setup time, waste, and costs—important since material can represent around 50% of a label job’s cost.
Patrick emphasizes that their approach to AI is not just adding a chatbot but using AI to directly improve operational efficiency and decision-making. The solution is still in testing with some customers, and CERM is carefully addressing data security and other considerations before broader rollout. He concludes that CERM is focused on helping customers work more efficiently while continuing to innovate in the label and packaging sector.
