COO Armand Schoonbrood from Mondi is responsible for the corrugated segment within Mondi and is an existing customer with BHS. Schoonbrood several times mentioned that BHS is a frontrunner and that he is very excited about the new Jetliner and how that can help companies to more sustainable production in the future. Super interesting to learn from!
Robert Olsson from DS Smith has one of the most exciting job titles in our mind - Print Performance Development Manager. In this interview, we get a chance to understand how changes in the market influence demand and production and how DS-Smith manages this. Almost all sales & distribution of BHS equipment come from fully-owned subsidiaries, but in Iberia (Spain and Portugal), this is handled by the long-time partner JC Consejeros. Javier Bermejo Parejo has a background in digital print but has now moved to a new position selling BHS equipment - and he seems to like it a lot :-)
Bartosz Mierzwiak likes being innovative and explains to editor Morten B. Reitoft how he believes that if you don't innovate, you can't survive. In the interview, Bartosz Mierzwiak also talks about digitalization, how the company was started by his father in a garage, and the relation with BHS. Nice story!
John Lingle is the Sheet Feeder Manager of Schwarz Partners, and as he explains to me, probably one of the largest sheet suppliers in the US. Schwarz Partners operates 14 plants and has experienced amazing growth these years. It's always great to meet new people, and Dave Boles, President of Atlantic Packaging Products, is no exception. Experience, knowledge, and a strong focus on achieving goals drive him and the group of companies he manages. Under the Atlantic Group name, Dave Boles is responsible for paper production, converting, and print; the group even has other specialties they service. During the interview, Dave Boles also explained that everything is measured and that the companies operate under an almost zero-error policy, which gave the company a lot of advantages during the pandemic. Seems to be a good place to be :-) Dave Boles also said during the interview that they recently placed two VERY large orders with BHS - so all in all - great :-)
John Potocsnak Jr. is the CEO of Corrugated Supplies, which mainly operates in the midwest of the US. In this interview, he explains that their formula for success works for them, and they see a growing market ahead of them. BHS is a central component in the journey as they operate nine BHS corrugators and two from another vendor. Potocsnak emphasizes the importance of BHS as they outperform the competitors, but he also talks about BHS as a partner since they have a long-term commitment to the industry. Interesting to learn from!

The BHS Open House '23, in Münster, gives us a lot of opportunities to talk to some of the specialists working for BHS - and of course, the new Jetliner gets a lot of attention. At the BHS Open House in Münster, BHS CFO Dr. Thomas List presented a Pay-Per-Use model for BHS equipment, making the cost of running an operation almost 100% variable, doesn't impact the balance sheet and enabling customers to scale faster. With digital print and the BoxPlant 2025 vision from BHS comes the necessity for workflow, and BHS need a VERY fast and very scalable workflow solution that does not only handle the print but all the things around how they see the future of packaging. A tiny insight to this is understanding that a simple QR code can have SO many different functions depending on where in the workflow the code appears - and can therefore be both a marketing and messaging driver for the consumer, as well as a tracking and initiator of different processes from file-creation, to planning, to substrates, to print, to corrugating, to converting, to the finished box making, logistics, and shipping. An enormous task that requires software specifically supporting the vision! Patrik Huettig has domain knowledge and understands the entire flow, and is, therefore, in our mind, quite ideal as the team leader bridging all the needs and making it happen! GREAT vision - and we are excited to see everything in action!
