The MaxLiner 3D is an industrial-scale digital varnishing and metallization machine made by St. Gallen-based Steinemann DPE. Steinemann DPE is part of the Leonhard Kurz group and produces several digital embellishment machines for packaging and labels. In this film, CEO Patrik Moser offers a walkthrough of the Steinemann DPE MaxLiner 3D to learn how the machine is built—it's a big and very productive machine! Here, CEO Patrik Moser, for the first time, shows the new MaxLiner 2D - a new cut-sheet version specifically made for commercial printers. Fast setup time, high speed, and high quality are the ingredients that make this machine unique. When Patrik Moser talks about the 2D version, it's essentially since it's printed on the back of the foil and transferred to the substrate, you won't be able to have a raised varnish the same way as when you print directly to the substrate. Both technologies are good and can be used for different applications. Great to learn from! LinkedIn Profile: https://www.linkedin.com/in/patrik-moser-23a10a35/

Patrik Knutsson · Organizing Print · PTP...

In the first INKISH episode of 2025, Patrik Knutsson from Norway discusses his work in the printing industry. With a background rooted in a family printing business, Patrik Knutsson transitioned from running his own ventures, such as co-founding Copycat, a successful printing chain, to developing groundbreaking projects, Print.page. The conversation explores the industry's ongoing challenges, particularly the difficulty of effectively communicating product specifications to customers in a predominantly digital era. Patrik Knutsson introduces the Periodic Table of Print and Graphic Elements (PTPGE), a structured and visual classification system inspired by the periodic table in chemistry. The PTPGE is designed to simplify and standardize the understanding of printing processes and materials, benefiting professionals and customers. The discussion highlights the PTPGE's potential to enhance e-commerce solutions, improve customer experiences, and support sustainability by providing transparency in the production process. Patrik Knutsson emphasizes the collaborative nature of the project, inviting industry professionals to contribute to its development. The initiative is presented as a valuable tool for driving innovation and efficiency in the printing industry.

Patrik Huettig · BHS · Teamleader Packag...

With digital print and the BoxPlant 2025 vision from BHS comes the necessity for workflow, and BHS need a VERY fast and very scalable workflow solution that does not only handle the print but all the things around how they see the future of packaging. A tiny insight to this is understanding that a simple QR code can have SO many different functions depending on where in the workflow the code appears - and can therefore be both a marketing and messaging driver for the consumer, as well as a tracking and initiator of different processes from file-creation, to planning, to substrates, to print, to corrugating, to converting, to the finished box making, logistics, and shipping. An enormous task that requires software specifically supporting the vision! Patrik Huettig has domain knowledge and understands the entire flow, and is, therefore, in our mind, quite ideal as the team leader bridging all the needs and making it happen! GREAT vision - and we are excited to see everything in action!

That picture shows a nice home where I work right now. The sunlight may be visualizing that there's a light at the end of the tunnel. We're getting through this together. And for me, it was important to stress that has been a long time. But you always should stay positive and optimistic. And I'm working for an organization who provides me the strength and this positive attitude. This is basically the reason why I sent you this picture. I'm a German. So Germans like it in a much structured way. Sometimes upstairs, sometimes downstairs, sometimes on the sofa or a couch. My work situation was completely different. I was traveling about 150 days a year. US, Asia, Africa, Latin America. I was all over the world. It is important to understand that when you work remotely, you easily feel disconnected. My organization, BW Papersystems or the Barry-Wehmiller Group. We have a culture which helps us to stay connected. And I feel that I matter. It talks about the leadership style and that everything what matters is the people within an organization. We have 40 hours a week where we touch the people in our organization as an employer. 40 times more than any church probably. You have a huge impact whether the person is happy or not happy. People are more satisfied and more fulfilled. They go home and they are better family, fathers, mothers, sisters. That has an impact on the family. Bob always says: That is the answer to world peace. This machine is cutting paper and board to sheets. This is one of the larger machines we typically build. Things go well and the team spirit is up. It's a very small machine, very compact, maybe as large as my desk here. Cuts very sensitive materials at a high speed. So, for example, the pharmaceutical leaflets. You see me on this picture. That was one of the few moments where I was in contact with customers. We could show the machine. It was really fun to talk to people. Pat McGrew at the INKISH NON-EVENT 2019 ...

INKISH hosted for the first time ever our NON-EVENT. The Non-event is celebrating the people that have been in front of the camera, or been supporting INKISH during the past years. This is a new recurring event, and the idea is to give space for the people we have featured to connect in a new way. We invited 150 people, and 32 decided to join us. Our guests came from Japan, Canada, USA, UK, Belgium, Sweden, and Denmark - and we are confident that next year, even more, will come. We asked most of our participants to talk LIVE during the dinner - and here is Pat McGrew from the US. Pat McGrew may not need much of an introduction, but here we go. She is Director of Keypoint Intelligence, she owns and operates three restaurants, she hosts several podcasts, and of course, she is the host on Print Sample TV. Her energy level is WAY higher than most we know. Great to see her in Copenhagen! Enjoy!

Pat McGrew · Fast Forward · drupa dog · ...

Bailey is the official dog of the McGrew Group. She is my co-host, Drupa dog. I have a wall full of them. And they're not all Disney. They're a little bit of everything. I grew up in the 60s with Saturday morning cartoons. I grew up with all the Disney pieces. My business partner at the time bought me the first cel. Which was of George Jetson and Astro. And then it got to be a thing. I always loved the roadrunner. I lived in New Mexico for five years. We moved into a house almost eight years ago that had a giant family room. And it also had sort of a more living room area. It has books, animation cels, the TV. But I also have a fireplace. But my space isn't really as big. I never wanted to be an independent consultant. I like the camaraderie of working for an organization. I can write technology. I understand where the vendors are. And whether they are hardware or software. And I understand the printing side of it. I've actually been able to craft a good assessment business. A good consulting business. A good writing business. It is harder and harder to be a one brand person. As an independent, I can work with everybody. I am sixty four. I've been walking around singing the Beatles song a lot. I think I've got a good 10 years at this. I think there is opportunity. We have three restaurants. We are remaining hopeful that by summer we'll be able to get them all open and full again. Everybody's had the last year to kind of sit in the lab and figure out what they needed to do. They've been busy. I mean, everyone that I work with has been busy. More interesting inkjet innovations. More interesting toner innovations. More interesting substrate innovations. And you put those all together. I'm excited.
