Supervisor & Process Director · Kev...

Worth mentioning when reporting from PRINTING United is, of course, the overwhelming number of attendees. Also worth mentioning is the many awards given to products and technologies. One of the awarded products was Ricoh's Supervisor/Process Director software, enabling printing companies to monitor their entire production with a click of a button. Adding devices is easily done by entering the device's IP address; voila, you are connected. Process Director takes this further, as Kevin Wake explains and shows. With Process Director, the data can be organized into logical groups, so production is now filtered into data per employee, per production unit, per machine, and almost everything. Nice product, and though developed by Ricoh entirely vendor agnostic.

Super Satisfied Canon iX3200 customer · ...

It doesn't happen SO often that INKISH makes films in our backyard, but it's so nice when it happens. The first INKISH film was ALSO from Lasertryk in Denmark, but many things have changed. Back then, Xerox iGens were the workhorses of the time - now you see HP Indigo, the Canon iX3200, and, of course, the two Heidelberg XL106 - and a tonne of binding and finishing equipment. In this film, Production Manager Morten Jespersen explains how the IX3200 fits into the production and when they choose to work with either of the technologies available. Great to be back, and it is always fun to see how companies develop with a combination of focused people and the right investments! Here you can see the first INKISH film ever - also from Lasertryk :-)

Super Optimized Label Production · Willi...

Inland Packaging in La Crosse in Wisconsin, USA is an amazing packing printing company that has grown over the past years. Part of the success is due to the company's investment in Tilia Labs Phoenix. As Business Analyst & Programmer Willie Spindler explains in this film, the time reduced on setup is maybe more than 50%. When we made the film Phoenix was mainly used for the offset presses in La Crosse (6 Heidelberg XL-machines), but Inland Packaging is soon going to use Phoenix also for their digital presses as well as their flexo-machines. Visiting printing companies like Inland Packaging is always great but being in La Crosse and see a company working with so many different types of labels and with so many brands shows the diversity of software like Tilia Labs Phoenix and the efficiency you can achieve using brilliant software. As usual - Watch, Like, and share!

Super Optimized Label Production · Peter...

A webinar just a few days ago said that Label Converters see up to 80% of their production being re-orders. With Labelhub, most of these orders can be 100% automated and managed by the customers freeing up capacity, enabling faster turnaround, and by all means, helping Converters. Labelhub offers their customers the option to create customer portals integrated into the Converters MIS systems. Updated designs can, with drag'n'drop, be easily replaced, proofed, stepped, and sent directly to the printing machine, including laser dies, production data, etc. Labelhub seems to be a super interesting tool, and as we speak with the founder and CEO, Peter Vogt, we learn that Labelhub is an add-on to existing MIS systems. Still, by building up the customer portals in Labelhub, you essentially make it easier for yourself if you, at some point, decide to change MIS/ERP system.

Successful Peak Performance event in Bru...

The Fujifilm event Peak Performance Print Experience was held in Brussels on September 28th and 29th, 2021. It was a great event with many people, really good print samples, and an insight into where Fujifilm sees their technology. Here we speak to Taro Aoki, who is the head of Fujifilm digital press solutions. The new Revoria brand was also demonstrated on the first day, but only to customers in Germany, Austria, Italy, Spain, and Portugal - since Revoria is only available here now. The event gave the audience an insight into the technology, like the new Jet Press 750s with faster print speed, still fantastic quality, and a few other great and exciting upgrades. Substrate, feather mechanism, and great ...

Imaging Solutions AG (ISAG) Are best known for their frames and lay-flat-photo books solutions, but the company also develops and sells other products. At C!Print '23, Imaging Solutions co-exhibited with Xpozer.com and showed a clever yet simple solution, together with a new alu/poly-based substrate, that can make stunning images printable, easy to send, and VERY easy to assemble. Two software solutions were also presented - by Imaging Solutions, as far as we see :-) The first is an extremely important software in the digital age, an AI-based image scaler that uses AI to render images to be used in a larger format - very convincing. The name of the software is Viesus. The other was equally interesting, though I found it strange that Imaging Solutions don't offer a demo- site to test the software's capabilities. The service is called MyPrint.ai, and what you do is upload min. 10 photos will then be made - again with the help of AI - into stunning images that can be used for your art. Everybody talks about AI, and with OpenAI's Dall-E2 and ChatGPT, MyPrint.ai is a welcome addition to the creative use of computers. Super nice to see! Stu Lungwitz · President · The Print Sou...

As we speak with Stu Lungwitz at CONNECT 2026, we understand that his 2nd-generation business, The Print Source, is known as one of the most diversified printing companies in the US, able to deliver various types of, let's say, more specialized print. At some point a few years ago, Stu was introduced to ISCorp and found the hosted solutions so attractive that he almost instantly became a customer - the process was smooth, but he also said, almost laughing, that it could have been done even faster if they just didn't have so much to do at the time. Today, the 50+ people company is a very satisfied ISCorp customer, and all because of word-of-mouth, but also because the alternative to The Print Source at the time would have been investing in expensive new server hardware. Enjoy!

STEVEN YE · Founder & Owner · Spand...

Steve explains that Spander is based in Shanghai and has been developing printing and packaging machinery for 15 years. The company is showcasing three product lines at the show — the S5, S7, and AC series — with the S5 positioned as a compact, cost-efficient press and the S7 as their long-established flagship now in its fifth generation. He emphasizes that all machines are fully servo-driven, gearless, and designed for high quality, efficiency, and ease of use, which he sees as essential given the growing difficulty worldwide in finding skilled machine operators. Steve notes that Shanghai gives them access to strong industrial infrastructure and well-educated engineers, which has enabled them to build everything in-house from scratch rather than copying others. He acknowledges that Chinese manufacturers are sometimes seen as copycats but stresses that Spander has pursued its own designs from the start, aiming for fair, market-adapted pricing rather than low-cost competition. He sees automation as the main future trend and says the company has deliberately spent years strengthening its base before now expanding globally. Having already sold 60 S5 presses in just eight months, Spander is now seeking the right distribution partners across Europe and beyond to bring its technology to international markets.

Steven Leibin · CEO · Matik · PRINTING U...

At Printing United Expo in Orlando, Morten B. Reitoft from INKISH meets Steve Leibin, who introduces the advanced world of Sei Laser and its U.S. distributor Matik. Morten jokes that when he first thought of lasers, he imagined something that “burns everything,” but Steve explains that with the right applications and expertise, laser systems are among the most versatile and productive finishing tools in the industry. Steve explains that Sei Laser builds 25 different machines in over 100 configurations for 15 key markets — spanning signage, textiles, folding cartons, labels, corrugated packaging, and even metal and wood. “We’re laser experts,” he says. “Our focus is on applying laser technology in the most efficient way for each material.” The Mercury system, showcased at the booth, demonstrates this flexibility — cutting materials ranging from acrylic and metal to wood and paper on a single platform. “It’s perfect for signage or print companies that want to bring more work in-house and reduce outsourcing,” Steve notes. Asked why lasers aren’t yet standard in most print shops, Steve points to tradition. “People are familiar with analog methods like die-cutting. But short runs are growing, and those older processes are too slow. Laser cutting is digital, fast, and requires no tooling. Once you see the ROI, it’s an easy decision.” He says most customers see a payback period of 1 to 2 years, depending on the application. Sei’s laser control prevents burning or discoloration, even with sensitive materials like fabric. The company’s newest machine, the X-Wave, is the fastest 63-inch plotter cutter available. “It cuts and seals fabric edges in a single pass,” Steve explains. “That means no secondary finishing steps.” Meanwhile, the Mercury wide-format system — up to 126 inches wide — has been an industrial workhorse in Europe for two decades. Both machines, Steve adds, use roughly the same power as a traditional cutter but deliver far greater speed and precision. As Morten wraps up, he calls Sei Laser’s technology “an eye-opener for the print and signage world.” Steve agrees: “When printers see what these systems can do — digital precision, speed, and flexibility — they realize laser finishing is the next evolution in print production.”
