Jennifer Kolloczek Sr. Director, Marketi...

At FESPA in Barcelona, Editor-in-Chief Morten Reitoft speaks with Jennifer Kolloczek from Canon about market developments, changing customer demands, and Canon’s latest large-format innovations. From home dĂ©cor and commercial interiors to packaging and experiential print, the conversation explores how wide-format printing continues to evolve far beyond traditional signage. Jennifer explains why digital print is increasingly becoming a strategic tool for brands that need faster response times, greater flexibility, and more personalized production. The interview also dives into profitability in modern print production, the importance of becoming a value-creating partner rather than just a production supplier, and why Canon believes applications, workflow efficiency, and business insight are just as important as the technology itself. With the launch of the new Colorado XL platform, Canon expands further into high-volume wide-format production, opening new opportunities for print service providers looking for productivity, flexibility, and scalable growth. A great conversation about technology, market direction, and where the future opportunities in wide-format print are heading.

Jeff Myland Chief Information Officer · ...

More is a company with about 3,500 employees, and a company that Jeff Myland himself describes as a conglomerate, as they deliver design, strategy, filming, production, distribution, and more - all to serve their many customers, that for 95% of them are not-for-profit organizations. The growth comes from a combination of organic growth and acquisitions, and when Jeff Myland joined the company about five years ago, it needed a stronger IT strategy. This, among other things, led to the decision to use ePS (now CAI) software, but rather than hosting everything themselves, they worked with ISCorp to develop a plan. ISCorp is not just a hosting company, but one that hosts and runs all applications in ISCorp-owned server farms across America and Europe, and services and supports the software it hosts. So for Jeff Myland and Moore, the cost and complexity of running their own hardware and software have been a great investment, but listen to Jeff Myland here, and learn more!

Jeff Mercier · President · BOPI · Re-inv...

Jeff Mercier is the President of BOPI - a commercial printing company in Bloomington, south of Chicago. BOPI is a family-owned company that produces high-end, great-quality commercial print work from brochures, prospects, leaflets, books, and more - and the customers are diverse from local businesses to large nationwide corporates. The company has a lot of printing and post-press equipment, and it's because of their previous acquisition of a Koenig & Bauer Rapida 106 that we are visiting BOPI, as they recently acquired an iPress 106 also from Koenig & Bauer. The iPress has been a good investment for BOPI as the machine die-cut faster and better than the previous older solutions, so not only has existing working become more profitable, but it has also opened up for new technology, as BOPI also invested in a folder gluer - also from Koenig & Bauer. Jeff Mercier's father, Tom Mercier, tells us that buying equipment is about relations and trust - and he is very vocal about his experiences during his life as a printer. Executive Vice President Jeff Fritzen, who handle sales, also tell how new equipment leads to more business - as he can show samples, tell customers about new capabilities, and well, BOPI have got a new family member that seems to be a very welcomed member of the BOPI family. Enjoy the film!

Jeff Krumrie Fast Forward Heidelberg Web...

It was a tough one to pick. Because I'm always like talking about myself. But I kind of reflected back on the last couple of years. And we've all had our ups and downs and our struggles. But I had a few other things that came in play. And I just needed to take care of myself. I spent a lot of time on webinars. And spent a lot of time reading. Kind of self-improving myself as far as the industry. And then my life outside of work. That's probably my favorite crosstab project to run on. I enjoy having projects go on a 640-size press. The harder the project is, the more fun I have with them. The right customer really appreciates what you do for them and understands the value they're getting. Says a lot about what they think about me as well as our company. Maybe I was sucking up a little. You know, it was a lot more to do with the camera. And I thought, well, I need to have a good background. And INKISH was as good as good as any, right? Everything from this conversation we're having right now to you halfway across the world to... You know, I'm meeting with clients. I met with one in Vancouver, British Columbia. And so, it's almost like a little show and tell, like a reading school. You know, you turn in the pages so that each one can be reviewed. And so that's been kind of a nice way to look at crews and talk about them. It can only bring us closer if we are able to. But finding the right people to connect with or finding a person to connect with. You know, I had come across a few of your videos. Maybe it was in one of the like the printing impressions emails that I received or something along that lines - a while back. I just watched one of your seminars. But I hadn't seen anything in a while. And then it just... I think a lot of that was just so much information out there. And then... But now, I'm it's definitely bookmarked on the top of my bookmarks on my computer. So now you are stuck up there, so. LinkedIn Profile: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jeffkrumrie/

Jean Lloyd Fast Forward South Africa SoH...

I've got 17 kilometers of stunning, stunning, beautiful white beach in front of me. During lockdown I actually moved to a beach house. And I thought: Well while I'm still here, let's get some quality living. Coming back to South Africa, it was circumstances in a way beyond my control. If you look at where technology is, where the work is, where the customers are. I miss that interaction. I do miss the rush of being on top of the latest technology and trends. What Covid has done, it has almost brought a human side to people's lives. Learn to be agile. You've learned to cope. You've learned new ways of getting information. I've met awesome people and I've taken on a V-Press web-to-print agency. I've gone down roads with, you know, the likes of like the Deborah Corn’s and the Pat McGrews. I mean, we really are involved, I suppose, in each other's lives on a daily basis. We are four generations of print in our family. So my grandfather, he operated a web-press. Both of my parents worked as factory workers in print shops. I have deaf parents. And so it was obviously a huge challenge for them. But I always wanted to dress up like the ladies upstairs. So kind of that was my aim. My daughter is in print. I'm so passionate about this industry. I absolutely love it. My career started at Heidelberg. I joined in Marketing. I was running the marketing department. Heidelberg and Kodak had this joint venture. And they launched digital. I would never in a million years think that I would be supporting a cause to save baboons. But when I looked out my window, there was this huge baboon sitting outside. The moment I found out about it...the more. I think it just got my heart string. And I can see I'm making a difference. And I'm bringing print into the picture. Jason Hower Lead System Engineer · HP T7...

The HP T700i is enormous, and talking to Jason Hower, the Lead System Engineer on the machine, is proud - and with right. The machine is made for the lamination market, liner printing for corrugated converters, and if you think digital is short-run, rethink! The T700i runs as fast as almost any offset press, and the operational cost is so low that the break-even is in the thousands. We go into many details in this walkthrough, so please skip forward if you are more interested in any other section of the machine. HP T700i uses the newest generation of HP's thermo printhead with ink-recycle features, saving ink. The machine is fast and features technology that is, for now, only found on its larger brother, the T11XX series, and the new T4250, not yet launched. In short, it means faster, better quality, and better operational cost. Fantastic opportunity for us to get close to the machine, and we hope it will also be a learning journey for you.
