EFI and Seiko have been partners for years, and for industrial printing, EFI relied on the expertise of Seiko. At Seiko Open Week 2022, Carlos Carrtalá Sanchis and a few of his colleagues joined the Open Week 2022 event to learn, share, and find inspiration. Andrea Erdmann is the Program Manager of CareAR and part of the Xerox digital experience team. Driving business transformation and emphasizing streamlining and improving the customer service experience are high on her agenda. Remote agents will guide customers with augmented reality features, and remote solving of problems is becoming mainstream. Great new services that are really making a difference when adopting an automated and connected strategy with your chosen partners. Improving on uptime and, in the meantime saving on CO2 emissions is a bonus. We are all for it.

Tonya Powers wraps up our two hours LIVE broadcast from the Canon Solutions America booth at PRINTING United. The exciting thing, which wasn't an agreed 'mission' for the show, was that all independently spoke about partnerships. Even Perry Fernandes from PCI Group, who is a customer, spoke about Canon Solutions America as a partner. Having a "partners" approach is, in our opinion, great, and a massive commitment to your customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders. It requires an openness and an objective to create success for everybody in that value chain. It's of course, always difficult for an outsider to judge whether Canon Solutions America can deliver on this. Still, I must say that I find it quite intriguing to have this approach, and working with high ambitions makes it more fun to go to work daily. Eileen Morrison works for the printing company Henry Ling in the UK, and though she is relatively new to Henry Ling, she has a lot of experience in the book printing domain. Henry Ling is a 140 years old printing company based in Dorchester with a dedicated focus on Journals and Books. It is related to their recent investment in the Canon ProStream 1800 that this session has been set up. Lucy Perez-Sierra has a great heart for papers, substrates, and applications, so when we met her at PRINTING United, we were almost afraid that she forgot all about this. Recently Lucy Perez-Sierra moved on in the Canon Solutions America organisations, now working with Canon ColorStream. Perry Fernades is the Vice Presiden of Operations at PCI Group. The company is a transaction printer with a focus on direct mail, pharmaceutical, etc., and a very loyal Canon customer. Near the airport, you find a company called Bidvest Data, and, as the name suggests, it's not just print. The company still does transactional print and manages data on behalf of clients, but as postal services in South Africa changed, the company moved into producing true Omnichannel products, where Bidvest Data produces print and various types of landing pages, and interacts with users via WhatsApp and more. Bidvest Data also moved more and more into book production and recently invested in a Canon Colorstream 8000 to complement both toner-based equipment and older, still-used equipment, like the OCÉ Jetstream 2000. Currently, the investments are in more binding capacity as they aim to sell more - many more books :-) Great visiting Bidvest Data on a cancellation of another visit, so also a warm thank you to Lee-Ann Saunders from Canon to introduce us to both Dean and Kim from Bidvest - a super great day :-)

No doubt that almost all vendors in the digital print space have their eyes on the emerging inkjet market. Canon today introduces their new Colorstream 8000 inkjet printer that promises greater quality, greater productivity, and very fast at the same time. INKISH was invited together with the European media to a virtual presentation of the machine(s). Hunkeler Innovationdays is about digital print and finishing, and though the emphasis is on inkjet, you also find toner machines. Canon brought their V1000, which according to Marc Bärtchi, has a lot to offer - double-sided banner print and print on structured papers, to mention a few of the features. Enjoy!
