The effect is similar to raised ink, but done digitally - either online, near online or offline. Using UV and layered ink the print sample becomes tactile in its appearance. Really cool. In this episode of Print Sample TV Pat McGrew takes a look at a nice campaign made by Canon. The print is made on various substrated printed on their inkjet cut-sheet printer i300. Rather than showing print from a real customer Canon are showcasing different applications on an arbitrary beach resort called Paradise Beach Resort and this is actually a very creative approach - and by the way - a similar approach to the printed retail store Canon showcased at Argos Inspiration Days in Brussels. The company has one product on the shelf called CHILI Publisher and the first thing that comes to mind when you see it is Adobe InDesign in an online-version. However, CHILI Publisher is way more. "Project Peacock Print Fair is basically a traveling show-and-tell event where designers, print buyers, and the printing industry can see amazing print samples," and so it was. The very first Project Peacock Print Fair held in NYC March 14th, 2019 was merely great. The printing industry met the designers and print buyers, and cheerful music arose. Tobias Degsell from Combiner and Trish Witkowski from Foldfactory.com did two engaging keynotes, and the exhibitors presented some of the greatest print samples of today's technology. GREAT event!

At the recent Gulf Print & Pack 2015 Xerox presented the CP1000. Or to be more precise re-launched the CP1000 with the option to use Gold or Silver toner. For Xerox the metallic toner is a first and as you can see from the samples, the gold and silver really adds a nice touch to the print.

INKISH hosted for the first time ever our NON-EVENT. The Non-event is celebrating the people that have been in front of the camera, or been supporting INKISH during the past years. This is a new recurring event, and the idea is to give space for the people we have featured to connect in a new way. We invited 150 people, and 32 decided to join us. Our guests came from Japan, Canada, USA, UK, Belgium, Sweden, and Denmark - and we are confident that next year, even more, will come. We asked most of our participants to talk LIVE during the dinner - and here is Pat McGrew from the US. Pat McGrew may not need much of an introduction, but here we go. She is Director of Keypoint Intelligence, she owns and operates three restaurants, she hosts several podcasts, and of course, she is the host on Print Sample TV. The very first film we did together with Deborah Corn in the Project Peacock Peeks film was with Canon Solutions America in Boca Raton, Florida. It was fun. It was great to see how Canon see applications in their own marketing and I have experienced this with Canon also in other parts of the world. Instead of using customer material they invent non-existing customers like a holiday resort or a retail store or something completely different and then they create applications around that idea. First - I find a truly great idea since you can develop whatever application you can think of, that in itself is great - but it's even greater - since this can also inspire buyers of Canon equipment.
